New Resource: How to Publish Poetry in Lit Mags & Journals

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be offering a webinar next month on “How to Publish Poetry in Lit Mags & Journals.” Whether you are new to publishing, or need some fresh ideas and inspiration, this webinar is for you. During the webinar, we’ll cover the following:

  • how to know when your poetry is ready to submit
  • how to research potential lit mags and journals
  • what publications may be a good fit for your work
  • how to put together a cover letter, bio, and poetry submission
  • what practices will increase your chances of getting published
  • what to expect after you hit “submit”

I’m a published poet, poetry contest winner, and Poetry Editor at Geez Magazine. I’ve written, and read, copious poetry on both sides of publication, and will offer encouraging, detailed, and on-the-ground advice.

This event is offered on a sliding scale of $15-$25. All tickets $20+ (regardless of attendance) also include a detailed guide, which will be sent via email immediately after the event. Even if you cannot attend the webinar (which will be Saturday, May 6th at 10am Eastern), the guide will cover all the points above, in expansive detail.

Please note that this workshop is mainly geared towards poets, but much of what is shared should also apply to any nonfiction, fiction, or hybrid pieces that are submitted for publication in lit mags or journals.
