The powerful energy that emerged after readings from Amanda Gorman and Lin-Manuel Miranda during the 2021 US Presidential Inauguration shows us that we are a people starved for poetry. Poetry meets us, and transforms us, beyond the reach of headlines and prose. If we didn’t know it before, we know it now: poetry is key.
Here are a few ways to support my calling to bring poetry and prayer into everyday life not only so we can find our true homes, but also so that we can heal our culture. The stakes are truly that high, friends. I take my calling to contribute to poetry-related conversations seriously, for the sake of mutual benefit and blessing.
An easy and “low hanging fruit” way to support me is to purchase books through my Bookshop storefront. I am a gifted and voracious reader, and I only pass along titles that I can wholeheartedly recommend. The book lists you’ll find on my Bookshop storefront represent a delicious variety of authors, topics, and time periods. If you have benefited from my literary efforts, and have an interest in the titles that I promote, then please consider purchasing books through my Bookshop storefront. Such purchases not only benefit independent bookstores as well as my own calling to curate good words, but they are also at no extra cost to the reader.
A second way to offer support is through prayer. I welcome your prayers and blessings, just as I offer such prayers and blessings to others. Please pray that I can receive and recognize God’s provision, direction, and wisdom in my calling here. God has provided for me in crucial ways through the prayers of others, and I welcome such prayers as a gift. If you feel led to offer any prayers and/or blessings to me directly, please feel free to contact me here.
A third way to support me is through a monetary donation. When folks want to pick my brain in real life, they often ask how they can thank me; in response, I let them buy me a cup of coffee. I prioritize the time I spend with others over those wonderfully caffeinated cups, just as I prioritize the time and attention I give to the content on this site.
Whether it’s a simple cup of joe once a month, a posh $5 cuppa, or a delicious D.C. dinner, your generosity helps keep the good words flowing.
You are also able to customize the amount for either monthly or one-time contributions in the payment pop-up. Thank you in advance for any support you may feel led to give.
While contributions here are not tax deductible, they are certainly very much appreciated!
