Here are a few ways to support my calling to bring poetry and prayer into everyday life not only so we can find our true homes, but also so that we can heal our culture. Such a calling involves many hours of reading, writing, editing, and revising, often for no guaranteed financial compensation. With the rise of AI, the financial outlook for writers going forward feels even more precarious. Your support of writers and poets like me is therefore even more appreciated.
An easy and “low hanging fruit” way to support me is to purchase books through my Bookshop storefront. The book lists you’ll find on my Bookshop storefront represent a delicious variety of authors, topics, and time periods. If you have benefited from my literary efforts, and have an interest in the titles that I promote, then please consider purchasing books through my Bookshop storefront. Such purchases not only benefit independent bookstores as well as my own calling to curate good words, but they are also made at no extra cost to the reader.
A second way to offer support is through prayer. Please pray that I can receive and recognize God’s provision, direction, and wisdom in my calling here. God has provided for me in crucial ways through the prayers of others, and I gladly receive such prayers as a gift. I welcome any prayers or blessings, including any kind words you want to pass along directly to me here.
A third way to support me is through a monetary donation. When folks want to pick my brain in real life, they often ask how they can thank me; in response, I let them buy me a cup of coffee (or more recently nowadays, some Georgia-grown yaupon tea). I prioritize the time I spend with others over those wonderfully caffeinated cups, just as I prioritize the time and attention I give to my poetry advocacy.
Thank you for supporting the arts through a gift economy.
While contributions are not tax deductible, they are certainly very much appreciated :).
