Then Join My Book Booster & Responsive Lullaby Club 🙂

Join me this autumn for a Welcome Calm, Silence Tyrants: Adult Lullabies book booster and responsive lullaby club. Whether you are simply curious to learn more about adult lullabies (including their benefits), and/or want to play with writing your own bedtime songs, you are very welcome.Â
To celebrate the September 29th publication of Welcome Calm, Silence Tyrants (“WCST“), let’s gather to promote adult lullabies, respond to them, and maybe even write our own.
All group members will receive the following perks:
- An electronic, PDF copy of Welcome Calm, Silence Tyrants: Adult Lullabies
- Access to a private, members-only Facebook group, where we’ll consider questions such as “what are some lullaby superpowers?,” “how old and prevalent are lullabies around the world?,” “how can lullabies promote social justice?,” and “what are some memories and questions that I have related to lullabies?”
- A “Poet’s Toolkit” I’ve written of recommended poetry craft books and resources
- An e-guide of journal questions and generative prompts to write your own lullabies (if desired)
- Live weekly video chats where we’ll expand on the Facebook questions, discuss poetry craft, and also have time to journal, or draft our own lullabies (optional and encouraged!). Weekly chat dates are 8pm-9pm Eastern the following four Wednesdays: September 16th, 23rd, 30th, and October 7th.
- An opportunity to read your own 1-2 lullabies at a virtual open mic on Wednesday October 21st at 8pm Eastern, and/or to cheer on new friends in the group who choose to read. Family and friends are also welcome to this concluding (optional and encouraged) event!
- A standing invitation for me to join a virtual session for any book club you may organize for Welcome Calm, Silence Tyrants
- Be entered into exclusive drawings for giveaways
- First-hand experience in strengthening literary connectionsÂ

When you join the book booster and responsive lullaby club, you agree to:
- Receive and read (brief!) email updates sent each week, starting with the welcome email on September 1st, and ending shortly after the open mic on October 21st.Â
- Review the book anytime September 30th-October 11th on at least two of the following platforms (you can use the same review on every site): Barnes and Noble, StoryGraph, Amazon, and/or GoodReads.*
- Complete at least 2 easy “choose your own adventure” challenges (many of them take less than 1 minute!), such as recommending that your local library and/or bookstore carry WCST, sending an email to family, friends, and/or social groups to recommend WCST, buying and gifting a physical copy of WCST, adding WCST to your GoodReads and/or StoryGraph shelf, reviewing WCST on additional platforms, and/or promoting WCST on social media. We’ll also brainstorm other possible challenges!Â
- Buy a physical copy of Welcome Calm, Silence Tyrants for yourself**
All those who register below will receive a welcome email with more details, a link to join the private Facebook group and weekly video chats, and early digital access to the book on September 1st.
Thank you for supporting Welcome Calm, Silence Tyrants. I can’t wait to gather around songs of rest and resistance. 🙂

Melanie
* Not sure how to write and post reviews online? No worries! It’s easy to learn, and I’ll provide detailed instructions. Even a review of 1-2 sentences can really make a difference. 🙂
** For those who are better able to support with time rather than book purchases this season, please complete at least 4 of the easy “choose your own adventure challenges” (in lieu of buying a copy of the book).
